The thoroughbred 2025 Ford Mustang GTD pairs the iconic Mustang nameplate with motorsport-grade performance. The supercar offers a supercharged V8, a carbon-fiber body, an innovative drag-reduction system, and several other features that helped it achieve a sub-7-minute Nürburgring lap time.

Experience Unleashed Power with the 2025 Ford Mustang GTD

Supercharged V8

High-performance enthusiasts will find the earth-shattering power they crave in the Mustang GTD. In its engine bay sits a supercharged 5.2L V8 that redlines at 7,650 RPM and kicks out 815 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque. The powerplant features several race-bred technologies, such as a dry sump oil system, and is linked to an exhaust that amplifies its soul-stirring roar.

Dual-Clutch Transmission

The Mustang GTD comes with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission that provides silky-smooth, white-knuckle shifts and significantly lowers lap times. It manages the V8’s tremendous output using two clutches and delivers power to the vehicle’s rear wheels. The transmission system’s transaxle is positioned in the rear of the vehicle to improve weight distribution and handling.

Carbon Fiber Body

While most production vehicles are made of aluminum, Ford engineers used lightweight carbon fiber to give the Mustang GTD an excellent strength-to-weight ratio. The supercar’s body panels, drive shaft, aero rear wing, and underbody aerodynamic tray are constructed using carbon fiber. The resulting lower body weight reduces inertia, helping the Mustang GTD clear corners without breaking a sweat.

Drag Reduction System

The Mustang GTD relies on downforce generation to maintain an unyielding grip at high speeds. An aero rear wing, front splitter, and underbody flaps help redirect airflow, pushing the supercar’s wheels firmly into the ground.

A Drag Reduction System (DRS), which works using hydraulics, controls several exterior elements to maintain a balance between drag reduction and downforce generation. When cornering aggressively at high speeds, the DRS adjusts the angle of the rear wing and underbody flaps to create an integrated airfoil, producing additional downforce to maintain traction.

Brembo Performance Brakes

You can confidently push the Mustang GTD to its limits, knowing that you can bring it to a quick halt by pressing the brakes. The supercar comes equipped with carbon ceramic Brembo performance brakes, consisting of large rotors and six-piston front calipers. The brakes also include an anti-lock braking system (ABS) that reduces wheel lockup when braking hard on slippery surfaces. To keep the brake pads from overheating, the multi-purpose front fender vents supply the setup with cool air.
