Our story began in 1965, when Rufus Peppers opened Peppers Imported Cars in South Bend, Indiana, just blocks from Notre Dame Stadium. Through hard work and a passion for the automotive business, Rufus and his sons, Doug and Mark, grew the company into a respected multi-franchise operation.

In 1986, a fishing trip to Kentucky Lake changed everything. Rufus and his sons discovered Paris, Tennessee—a community that felt like home. By the end of that year, they had purchased their first dealership in Paris, officially opening on January 1987.

From there, Peppers Automotive Group steadily grew, adding Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Toyota. Building and remodeling each location into what is now our convenient campus on East Wood Street in Paris, TN. Every step of our growth has been intentional—keeping our operations centralized to better serve our customers with efficiency and ease.

In 2018, we expanded further by acquiring Peppers Ford in Carroll County, allowing us to serve even more customers across West Tennessee with the same values and commitment that built our name.
